"I could have never pictured how much AICD and the Diploma of Styling would help me find my calling. Through the AICD student mailing list I have been presented with many opportunities, one in particular as an intern fashion stylist for Cidonie Richards. This course prepared me with the knowledge to work for an esteemed fashion stylist and photographers. The practical aspect of the Diploma of Styling put my new knowledge into action through creatively directed photo shoots and practical coursework, which has also allowed me to build an awesome portfolio. I have also learnt how to be a personal stylist and recognise body shapes and give advice on figure flattery. I thoroughly believe I have learnt more in this course within 10 months than I could have if I finished my previous enrolled university degree.”

"After attending two months at a university level, I soon realised I needed a more hands on, creative and practical approach to developing my skills, knowledge and understanding of different career avenues in the fashion industry. AICD has offered me invaluable industry knowledge and a real world experience. The first six months of my course I learnt the core fundamentals and theories to the business side of the Fashion Industry including marketing, designing, production documentation, trend forecasting, buying, visual merchandising and many more. Although I am more critically business minded, I also got the opportunity to undertake basic sewing and pattern making, which I understand now is a necessary skill to have knowledge of to conduct successful fashion business transactions and decisions. The second six months I have been able to develop my own personal identity and footprint in the industry through creative direction from teachers and developing my portfolio. Throughout my studies, I have had the opportunity to meet industry professionals, buyers and wholesalers which has helped me build contacts and networks in the industry. I also got the opportunity to compete in a visual merchandising industry competition and through the college obtained a visual merchandising internship with Megan Park, which was invaluable. Through this internship and work experience, I was lucky enough to receive a full time job offer from Forever New as their visual merchandising and stock assistant starting next year. My teachers were very supporting, easily approachable and knowledgeable. I have had the opportunity to meet some talented individuals, whom I hope to remain in touch with on a personal, and industry level."

“The knowledge I’ve gained from AICD has been invaluable in practical application, and I’m very fortunate to have Britt as a mentor through this process — I can’t speak highly enough of her as a teacher, she has gone above and beyond to support me in my ventures post studies.”
"I started off pursuing my bachelor in education, however after one year decided my interests lay in design and in particular interior design. It was through a lot of research that I picked and enrolled in the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design at AICD in Brisbane. I started not knowing exactly what to expect of the course, but was pleased to spend the first 6 months understanding core elements and principles of design. The second 6 months was putting this into practice and into more industry focused scenarios and working on things like client briefs and presentation boards. Through client briefs I found my career path, which is redesigning and redecorating residential homes. The practical approach of the course, including excursions and teachers experience has cemented my knowledge of the industry. Apart from learning the best part has been meeting new people and creating new friendships.”

I study part time at AICD in beauty Therapy 1-2 days a week. This definitely works for me as I work casually part-time and make time to study around my work schedule. AICD accommodates to my working days and lets me know what days are available for different modules……
I’m a full time Mum and full time worker, and being able to do classes either during school hours or on the weekend really helped me be able to study. The hands on experience in classes also helps prepare me for industry.
Being a full time Mum and working part time, and being able to study my Diploma of Beauty Therapy part time 1-2 days has been perfect. There is always a lot of support and the in class practical and theory means you don’t miss out on anything.
Studying the Diploma of Beauty Therapy 1-2 days a week is an amazing course to study. It is flexible, as I work full-time and can still manage my studies with great results. The class practical is a great way to prepare you for industry. The theory is explained and taught in a way that allows you to absorb as much information without being overwhelmed. The teachers and staff are very supportive and always will strive to make sure you are getting the results you can with excellent teaching skills. Best decision I have ever made enrolling into this school!
I originally was at school when I started here and left to focus all my energies on Beauty Therapy. Studying Beauty Therapy at AICD has helped me improve my confidence and helped me gain a lot of knowledge. Couldn’t be happier learning Diploma of Beauty Therapy here.
I started Beauty school mid-way through year 10 and have learnt so much and gained so much confidence and found passions I never knew I had. I was lucky enough to complete high school a year early because of beauty school. It has been an amazing journey. I’m sad to finish this year, but AICD has given me so many pathways and opportunities.
