At the Australian Institute of Creative Design, we are always looking for inspiration to fuel our creativity.  So… where’s the best and most visual place to find inspiration?  Instagram!

We’ve compiled our top 10 MUAs that inspire us on Instagram.  If you’re not following these accounts, you might want to start!

10. Bea Sweet Beauty

Bea Sweet Beauty’s Insta account is full of fun and colour.  If you’re looking for a little eye-makeup inspiration to brighten your day, this account is a must.

9. Mylah Morales

Mylah Morales has worked very closely with Rihanna and has done looks for other major artists like Nikki Minaj and Shakira.  Her looks are very clean, yet glamorous.

8. Isamaya Ffrench

Isamaya Ffrench is only 28 years old, and has already established a very promising career as an MUA.  She has worked on celebrities such as Kate Moss and Rihanna.  Ffrench’s style is definitely very colourful and creative, so if you’re looking for inspiration, look no further.


7. Robin Black

6. Patrick Ta

Patrick Ta started his MUA career as a freelance artist for MAC cosmetics.  Ta posted his new looks on Instagram, and after gaining a large following, he began receiving requests from celebrities to do their makeup for award shows.  Ta has now worked on high profile celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Shay Mitchell, and the Kardashian and Jenners.  All being discovered through Instagram.  Make sure you check out his Insta today for some MUA inspiration.

Hung Vanngo has had a lot of success as an MUA in the fashion industry and has worked with high-profile clients such as Mert & Marcus, Carter Smith and Craig McDean.  Vanngo is also a successful celebrity MUA, working with stars like Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and many more.  Vanngo is definitely an MUA you will want to follow, if you aren’t already.



4. Katie Jane Hughes

If you love eye-makeup, then you definitely need to follow Katie Jane Hughes.  Her Insta is full of statement eyewear, that’s not too out there, just perfect to add a bit of flair.  Definitely, a place to find some colourful inspiration.

1. Pat McGrath

Pat McGrath is potentially one of the most celebrated editorial and runway makeup artists, and there are few other artists on her level.  McGrath has worked on campaigns with couture brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada, in addition to various editorials in publications like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.  McGrath even has her own label of Make-Up and has been described as “the most influential makeup artist in the world” by Anna Wintour.  If you’re not following Pat McGrath on Insta,  you might want to start.
